Summary: This is a collection of photographs of women with autobiographical text describing some of the things that are important to them (family, te reo Maori, education etc). The women come from Hawkes Bay to the Hokianga. This book asserts the oral traditions and systems of Maori women and refutes the way in which they appear - invisible and voiceless - in colonial literary and visual traditions.
