Arson, murder, sex and hair-raising midnight adventures with the Te Whakinga Kid. It was Friday when Wes and Cyril came to town with a trick to play on the local bookmaker. But there was already other skullduggery afoot.

01/10/2012I can see why Ronald Hugh Morrieson was described as 'our most precious; writer - he can create believable, likable characters and a fast-moving story. It's not that hard to get into and it's definitely worth reading. Sophie

09/10/2014A blokey "Barry Crumpish" type of book filled with an excess of drinking and smoking. It's a complicated book that didn't gel. The heavy drinking and smoking throughout the book is distasteful.
